Microdermabrasion is a Novel treatment that employs a diamond-tipped device with tiny crystals to remove dead skin cells from the outer layer of the skin. By removing these dead cells, new, healthy skin cells are nurtured, allowing the skin to continue improving. Microdermabrasion is commonly used for fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sun spots, and uneven skin tone. On top of these skin conditions, microdermabrasion can smoothen and refresh the skin, making it look and feel more radiant. Secondly, microdermabrasion can be performed on the face, neck, chest, and hands, and aids in getting rid of age spots, enlarged pores, and rough skin. Lastly, because microdermabrasion is non-invasive, most people can return to their everyday activities shortly after the treatment session. However, for more serious skin issues, multiple sessions are required to achieve the desired outcome. Various types of microdermabrasion techniques exist today, but crystal and diamond microdermabrasion tend to be the most popular. While crystal microdermabrasion exfoliates one’s skin by use of fibers such as aluminium oxide, diamond microdermabraison employs a diamond-tipped wand to gently scrape away the uppermost layers of skin instead. Their techniques are different, but both are effective in smoothing the surface of the skin. Microdermabrasion is usually safe for all skin types and tones, but is not recommended for individuals with active acne breakouts, rosacea, or eczema. Following the procedure, there might be some erythema or flushing of the skin, similar to sunburn, which tends to resolve within a few hours. microdermabrasion is one of the newer technologies that offer improvement of the skin appearance, texture, and tone with almost no downtime or discomfort. It is ideal for those seeking a gentle refresh and do not want the risks or invasiveness that comes with more aggressive treatments. Besides the aesthetic improvement of the skin, microdermabrasion has been reported to improve the overall health of the skin by unclogging pores, increasing circulation to the skin, and making the skin look younger. Microdermabrasion does not fix deep wrinkles or sagging skin like other more invasive methods do, such as laser, chemical peels or other treatments. However, it is perfect for those who want a refreshing change without much risk involved.
